If you're looking for a great way to meet other students dedicated to academics, professionalism, and community service, then Alpha Kappa Psi may be a good fit for you. We selectively recruit at the beginning of each semester from all colleges at the University. Membership in Alpha Kappa Psi is not restricted to business majors. Alpha Kappa Psi is not a club; it is a professional co-ed business fraternity, and the social aspects of our fraternity are equally as important as the professional aspects. Alpha Kappa Psi is a lifelong commitment; your involvement in our organization does not end when you graduate.

What do we do?

We pride ourselves on our balance of professionalism and brotherhood. Some of our events are focused on professional development: we host guest speakers, alumni networking events, and the occasional mock interview. Other events strive to create brotherhood amongst our members: we host fraternity retreats in Phoenix, the occasional 80's party, and an annual ski trip to Pinetop, Arizona, just to name a few. The best part - every event that takes place is coordinated from start to finish by our membership. But what does that mean to you?  It means YOU have more opportunities for leadership positions and YOU have more meaningful things to put on your resume. Isn't that what it's all about!?

What sort of students do we look for?

We selectively admit students whom we think strive for the same ideals that we do: brotherhood, knowledge, integrity, service, and unity. While strong academics are admirable, we seek a balanced individual who is as outgoing and sociable as they are ambitious and hard-working. In other words, GPA is a consideration in our admittance decision, but it is not the top factor. Our best advice is to attend our rush events and decide for yourself if you are a good fit for the Alpha Kappa Psi culture.

What do we mean by rush?

Rush is our formal recruitment period whereby potential members interact with current members through meetings, events, and interviews to learn about each other and the organization. If we find a fit we will offer "bids" for starting the process to become a member as a pledge for a semester before extending full membership into the fraternity.

Who can rush?

Anyone can rush Alpha Kappa Psi, even non-business majors. We stress this point because we feel that it is this unique characteristic that helps build our strong, diverse brotherhood that is unlike other business fraternities. Our first requirement is that anyone interested in rushing be in good academic standing, which is a minimum 2.75 GPA or higher, unless you're Upper Division Eller which has no GPA requirement. Our additional requirements are that you must have at least 3 semesters of college left and demonstrate a strong interest in business or any related fields.

The process

Potential new members will have to attend at least one rush event, fill out and submit the application before the deadline and then sign up for panel interviews.  The sign up sheet for panel interviews will be sent out shortly after the last rush event. The panels will consist of 5 active members.
